10. A recurring series of text on the series is A113, a room where most of today’s Pixar programmers studied. It is seen in Easter eggs during the first film and on Andy’s mom’s car in the third installment.
9. What happened to Sid Philips? If you don’t recognize him anymore in the third film (he grew up, just like Andy), he is the garbage tapping garbage-man in the third film. Unknown to him, he saves the rest of Andy’s toys from the land fill.
8. Ever wondered where Woody got his name? According to his creators, Woody was named after Woody Strode.
7. You might have spotted a familiar furry creature in Toy Story 3 which Woody meets. He is Tortoro, a character from Hayao Miyazaki’s film, “My Neighbor Tortoro”. His appearance in the film was John Lasseter’s way of thanking his inspiration, Miyazaki.
6. During the first film, Woody holds a meeting along with his fellow toys. Behind him is a bookshelf that contains books with the titles: Red’s Dream and Knick Knack. These were previously released films by Pixar.
5. Buzz Lightyear might be a fitting name for an astronaut—and guess what, it is! Buzz Lightyear was named after renowned spaceman, Buzz Aldrin.
4. During the planning process of Toy Story’s characters, Woody was primarily given a strict personality, just like what a real Wild West sheriff would be but the reviews were negative, the creators eventually gave him the leadership qualities we are familiar with today.
