A self-proclaimed hopeless romantic, Paul Stanley is known for his tenure with KISS as their lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist. He helped form KISS into what it is today, a legendary rock band that listed 9th among 100 Metal Bands in the United States. Paul Stanley received compliments of his own from Hit Parader 2006 when he was listed as the 18th best heavy metal lead vocalist.

Although Paul Stanley never stuck with the Starchild make-up in a few of his live shows with KISS, the Starchild make-up became popular, nonetheless, and he stuck with it until 1983, when KISS decided to rock on stage, for the first time without their make-up.
