- Lightning McQueen’s name was taken from a veteran Pixar animator named Glenn McQueen who passed away in 2002.
- A113 is a number seen on most Pixar movies. In Cars, A113 is used as Mater’s license plate.
- Dinoco is known as the racing company which The King owns; however, it is also known as the gas station which Andy passes by in Toy Story 2.
- 51237 is the license plate on Filmore’s car. He was voiced by George Carlin who was born on May 12, 1937 and coincidentally, 51237 is also the zip code for George, Iowa.
- Cars 2 will be released on June 24, 2011.

- During the pre-production stage, the film was called the Nancy Factor and was named after John Lasseter’s wife, Nancy.
- How many sketches did it take to design the cars for Cars? A whopping 43, 000 sketches!
- One of the racing cars bears the Apple Logo. This was a tribute to Steve Jobs who once owned Pixar before selling it.
- You can find a hidden Mickey in the film. The rotating sign on Flo’s V8 Cafe is actually one.
- Lynda Petty and Richard Petty both played a couple on the film. Richard Petty was the King and Lynda Petty was Mrs. The King. Furthermore, Richard Petty’s character was named as such because he was considered the King of Nascar in the 70′s.
